The Royal Society of Edinburgh is an independent educational charity committed to providing public benefit throughout Scotland by supporting the advancement of learning and useful knowledge. Established by Royal Charter in 1783, the Society boasts a1600-strong Fellowship including experts from a broad spectrum of disciplines such as science & technology, arts, humanities, social science, business and public service.
